3. “Ata”

In 2003, the remains of a 6-inch long skeleton were found in a pouch in a ghost town in the Atacama Desert of Chile. Since then there have been numerous attempts to identify what species it belongs to, where it came from, or how it ended up there, but no concrete conclusion has been agreed upon. It was named “Ata” by the scientist who study it.
