It might sound like a crazy idea, but why can’t we eat banana peels when we eat plenty of other fruit with their peels on? In fact, MTIMES says that banana peels have a lot of health properties themselves. Dr. Paul Haider, herbalist and spiritual teacher, says that banana peels are good for weight control and lowering cholesterol levels.

Did you know that in Eastern India, banana peels are regularly used to make sweet and savory dishes? Maybe you can start by blending bits of it in your morning smoothie. But, be careful to scrape off any wax or pesticide residue before you eat them.
