Get Rid of Nasty Smells In Containers

Plastic containers tend to hang onto the smells of whatever they held for a long time after you’ve washed them, but salt is a great way to get rid of these odors. Simply sprinkle some salt into the container and leave it, covered, overnight. Wash it off in the morning (maybe add a few drops of lemon just before washing) and it will smell as good as new. This works because salt naturally absorbs odors, which is why it is used in many cleaning products as well.
