Melt Ice and Snow

Dust icy locations like your car, driveway, or porch with rock salt to prevent the ice from sticking to the surface. This will also help you remove it. However, be careful when putting salt on lawns because it can kill your plants. You can also use salt water to wash your car to prevent ice from clinging to your windshields.
