Seems pretty obvious isn’t it? But the the truth is most people who looked at the the picture wouldn’t have been able to catch it, just as you didn’t when I’ve used it twice already in this sentence alone! Or maybe you did, because we’ve already pointed it out just prior to you reading this. It’s always easier to find the mistake when you know what you’re supposed to be looking for.

It’s one of those things that only seems obvious after you’ve caught it. That’s because the human brain doesn’t register the second use of the word ‘the’, for some inexplicable reason! And many of us have made the mistake of typing – or writing – it twice when we’re working on essays an assignments. Thank God for spellcheckers, because all my writings would otherwise be full of similar mistakes!
