Pat Sajak is famous for being the host of Wheel of Fortune, but what people don’t realize is that he is also a veteran. He served in the Army as a DJ during the Vietnam War. He took over the Dawn Buster show, which was best-known for the phrase, “Goooooooooood morning, Vietnam!” He returned from Vietnam and continued his media career.

He took over the game show in 1983, hosting both the daytime and evening versions of the program. Before that, he worked for a very brief period as a weatherman in Nashville and Los Angeles before NBC spotted his talent.
