George Carlin
George Carlin was a famously funny comedian and social critic who was born in the US. He was often considered a “counterculture” icon, and he had fourteen comedy specials that criticized pretty much everyone. He was also a favorite guest on Johnny Carson, and he was the first host of SNL ever.
Carlin, despite his criticism of the government, served in the Air Force as a radar tech. Carson was stationed in Louisiana, where he worked as a disk jockey at a radio station near his base. He was given a general discharge in 1957, and he joined a comedy team just two years later.
