Jack Lemmon attended Harvard University, and it was there that he entered the US Navy’s V-12 College Training Program. After graduating, he served as an ensign, stationed on an aircraft carrier. He served during WWII. After WWII ended, he returned to Harvard to complete his degree.

Lemmon would go on to star in some of the biggest films of the fifties. Some Like It Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe, is one for which he is best-known. He was also in The Odd Couple, a classic comedy. The comedian and actor is the father of actors Chris and Courtney Lemmon.
